What Skip Size Is Right For You?

Choosing The Right Skip

Bailey’s Skip Hire has an extensive range of skip sizes for your skip needs. With 9 different sizes available, Bailey’s has a skip for any domestic, commercial, or industrial project. It is important to choose the right skip for your project. It is important to consider the amount of waste you think you will produce, and the weight of this waste. For example, if you wish to dispose of soils and rubble, the largest container you can get is the 8 Yard. Alternatively, if you have a large amount of light materials to dispose of, somewhere between 12-16 Yards could be your best bet.

We Have A Range Of Skip Sizes Available

Bailey’s Skip Hire has 9 skip sizes available. Each skip size serves a variety of different projects and waste materials. Here is a breakdown of each skip size, and which is best for you.

2 Yard Skip: Our smallest skip is a perfect, compact size for small household jobs. These include spring cleaning, green garden waste, and small amounts of building materials

4 Yard Skip: Also known as the “Midi Skip.” These skips are useful for larger DIY jobs, or very light commercial use. These skips are often used for domestic room renovations, large garden clear outs and small building jobs, particularly with compactable waste. They hold between 30-40 bin bags.

6 Yard Skip: The “Small Builders Skip” is perfect for construction site segregation. These skips accommodate rubble, soil and other construction waste. They can also be used for particularly large scale domestic clear out jobs. Small Builders Skips hold 50-60 bin bags.

8 Yard Skip: This skip is often known as just the “Builders Skip.” It is the most popular skip for building sites, and is the largest size available for heavy wastes such as soil and rubble.

12 Yard Skip: Also known as the “Maxi Skip.” The perfect skip for large quantities of light waste, either from construction or domestic projects. This skip holds up to 8 tonnes of bulky light-weight items, such as cardboard, plastics, wood, and metals. The Maxi Skip fits between 80-110 bin bags.

14 Yard Skip: This skip serves essentially the same purpose as the 12 Yard, except it’s got a bit of extra room for those slightly larger projects!

16 Yard Skip: These skips have the added option of open or enclosed. These skips are useful for large amounts of bulky domestic items, shop fittings, packaging, and light construction waste.

20 Yard Skips: This is our smaller of the two Roll On Roll Off models (RORO). This sturdy skip is perfect for commercial projects such as light construction waste, factory waste, and site clearance.

40 Yard Skips: The largest of Bailey’s Skips. This RORO skip can hold huge quantities of recyclables, factory waste, and packaging waste.
